Our 7 step action plan is designed to deliver high quality output that

Meets any expectations

process-01

Each project is assigned to one Project Manager (PM) that will be fully responsible from the inception of the project to the delivery.

The PM completes an internal review of the overall scope of the project (industry, timeline, glossary, output delivery, etc). Based on this mind mapping report, the PM designs a project plan according to your needs.

process-01

For specific projects, we develop a standard glossary as a reference for all translators working with your materials.

The glossary is essential in ensuring the highest levels of quality and consistency. It implies a continuous updating process according to the unique nature of the work we perform over time.

process-01

At this stage, the PM assigns the translation to highly qualified target language translators, according to the type of content and expertise of the linguists. We use MemSource as our main CAT tool as well as SDL Trados Studio if required.

An important company policy is to work only with natives, which are also tested on their specialised industry, among other 10 criteria such as Emotional Intelligence and innovative approach (for creative industries – Advertising & Marketing, IT, Communication, Arts & Culture, etc).

The project then follows a review process carried out by a second, equally qualified, professional translator/editor to ensure the quality of the translation.

We are realistic about the occurrence of errors in any human activities including translations, regardless of how qualified a translator may be.

After we receive the comments of the second editor, we return the translation document to the initial translator that adapts the text. If a client asks to review the editing before we design the final layout of the document, we are happy to provide full involvement in this step of the project.

Depending on the project plan, the PM forwards the files to the desktop publishing team that designs the entire layout based on the needs of the client.

The team also verifies that the words have been hyphenated properly and that nothing has been omitted from the text during the formatting stage.

The PM uses Xbench and Memsource to have a final spell check and to ensure a consistent terminology.

process-01

The key elements that are taken into account are the following:

  • The correct fonts have been used
  • The consistency of headers and footers with the source language document – The proper names are spelled correctly
  • The pages respect the order stated in the source text
  • All the linguistic comments and reviews have been incorporated
  • Margins, graphics and positioning are correct

process-01

Last but not least, the PM in charge of your order performs an overall check of the document and verifies all the initial coordinates to ensure a tailored and top standard deliverable document.

We always appreciate your feedback as we strive for excellence.

Quality Assurance

We believe that constant innovation and our passion for excellence are essential to keep our clients, our employees and our collaborators happy.

It is a triangle where we use co-creation, in order to make sure that everyone is involved in the QA process. We discuss the following essential QA elements with our clients:

The quality process starts with our linguists, the people that are actually drafting the text.

We are proud of the passion and responsibility our linguists denote in their work.

The selection procedure is rigorous and based on our professional experience in global organizations; we have 10 important criteria that every linguist needs to fulfil:

  1. Native in the target language
  2. Lives in the target country
  3. Minimum 5 years of experience in the translation industry
  4. Passed the industry-specific sample test in 48h
  5. Recommendations checked from previous clients
  6. Passed the creativity test
  7. Passed the Emotional Intelligence test
  8. Video-Skype interview
  9. Availability to join YTranslators community
  10. CAT Tools used

The Project Managers

Our project managers are regularly refreshing their training on both ‘hard skills’ (Advanced Project Management, Time Management, Advanced Customer Service) as well as ‘soft skills’ (Innovation, Growth Mindset, Leadership Development, Effective Communication)

Our best QA tool in relation to our employees is to keep them happy and motivated. When we all enjoy what we do, we put 110% effort into our work.

The Project manager uses different technologies such as Xbench and Memsource to have a final spell check and also to ensure a consistent terminology.

The key elements that are taken into account are the following:

  • The correct fonts have been used
  • The headers and footers are consistent with the source language document – Proper names are spelled correctly
  • The pages respect the order stated in the source text
  • All the linguistic comments and reviews have been incorporated
  • Margins, graphics and positioning are correct
