Translator Graeme L.
Languages have always been his interest and passion. Born in a bilingual family, Graeme grew up in Italy and the United States. After graduating with a major in Philosophy at the University of Massachusetts in 1977, he enrolled in the University of Zurich, Switzerland, where he studied Arabic and Linguistics for three years. After University, Graeme started teaching in Swiss public and private schools and writing teaching materials for English and Italian. Translating has always been his companion ever since graduation in 1977. He translates from and into his mother tongue, English. Interestingly enough, for a philosophy major, his specialisation is the translation of technical, legal, IT technology, and bio farming materials. Over the years, Graeme translated over 40.000.000 words in these areas.
He turned to translating full-time after closing his publishing business back in 1998 and earned his Diploma in Translation from the Institute of Linguists, London. Besides languages, technical and legal translation, he is a classical guitarist and sings as a tenor in a choir.
